CWF Swinging-Arc Valve

The CWF swinging-arc valve uses a spherical-shape dome and an inflatable-seal to ensure a 100% airtight seal. Due to its features, the valve achieves a long service life, particularly in abrasive applications. Consequently, overall system reliability is increased dramatically.

Swinging Arc Valve

Features and Benefits :

The dome is actuated through a quarter-circle arc via a rotary actuator or linear double-acting cylinder and linkage mechanism.

Quick-exhaust valves are used to ensure rapid opening and closing of the valve.

During operation, the valve provides a full-bore and unrestricted flow of material, which does not impact on the dome. This maximises service life of the valve. Also, the valve is “self-cleaning”.

The inflatable-seal is only inflated when the valve is fully closed. This avoids shearing or jamming of particles between the seal and dome, and hence increases system reliability.

Applications:

  • Blow tank inlet valve for pneumatic conveying systems.
  • Dust, powder and/or granular products in coal-fired power plants, smelters, iron and steel plants, pharmaceutical and chemical industries.

Performance Characteristics:

  • Operating Pressure = 0 to 1000 kPa g.
  • Operating temperature <200 °C.
  • Leakage test pressure = 1100 kPa g.
  • Actuator = Pneumatic cylinder
  • (rotary or linear double-acting).
